Mrs. Amalia Vrachnou Chair of the Municipality of Kifissia’s Development Organisation and Executive Municipal Officer for EU Projects and Funds, recently presented the openDBL project during an open lecture on "European Environmental and Landscape Politics and Projects" at Politecnico di Milano on April 3, 2025.

In her presentation, Mrs. Amalia emphasized Kifissia’s strategic vision for sustainable urban development and the municipality's commitment to digital innovation through European collaboration. A key focus of her talk was openDBL—the One-Step Digital Building Logbook developed within the framework of a Horizon 2020 European project.

As a standardized, openAPI-based tool, openDBL empowers municipalities and the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) industry by: 

• Enabling real-time monitoring and analysis of building systems 

• Streamlining operations and maintenance processes 

• Supporting data-driven decision-making 

• Enhancing building performance, operational efficiency, and sustainability

By integrating data from multiple sources into a centralized and accessible platform, openDBL promotes more transparent and accountable urban planning, helping cities adapt to the challenges of climate resilience and smart governance.

This academic exchange at Politecnico di Milano underscores the value of cross-European collaboration in advancing innovative and scalable solutions for the built environment.
